Meet the Doctor

Dr. Nicole DeVecco Kim is a general dentist with clinical expertise in all procedures related to family and cosmetic dentistry.  She received a Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts.  "Dr. Nic" worked in several private practices throughout her career as well as full-time staff at St. Joseph's Hospital for 6 years working exclusively with children and young adults.  From 2000-2002, Dr. Nic served as Director of Dental Services at New Visions of Newport County (now East Bay CAP).  During her tenure at St. Joseph's and New Visions, Dr. Nic served with the National Health Service Corps for 6 years providing dental services to underserved areas in Rhode Island.

Dr. Nic has dedicated her entire career to learning about teeth!  Upon graduation from high school, Dr. Nic attended Luzerne County Community College in Pennsylvania to become a dental hygienist.  Prior to attending dental school, she worked for 6 years as a hygienist while pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene Education from Bloomsburg University in Pennsylvania.  She now resides in North Kingstown with her husband Gary and her 2 children.

A Personal Letter to My Future Patients:

"I have dedicated my entire educational career to teeth.  Early in my career, I learned how to clean them, apply fluoride and sealants, take x-rays of them and learned how to educate others to maintain them.  I was a dental hygienist and I loved it.  I worked 6 years full-time as a hygienist and during that time, I continued my education in the evenings so that I could become a teacher of Dental Hygiene.  Once I acquired my Bachelor's Degree, I decided to apply to Dental School.  I was honored to attend Tufts University School of Dental Medicine.  It has been a long road to get where I am now.  I have been practicing dentistry for many years working with all ages in different settings. 

I made it through many years of education and will continue to stay abreast of current dental procedures and products.  I am grateful to family and friends who supported my decision to start-up this new dental office.  Now, I will dedicate my clinical skills and knowledge to you, my patient.  I will take the time to explain your findings, I will show you what I see in your mouth.  I will give you options and the opportunity to decide on your treatment plan in order to maintain your dental health.  I hope over time you will have a solid trust in me as your dentist and you will be confident to refer your friends and family to me as well.  Thank you for choosing me as your dentist.  I truly appreciate your business."  -- Dr. Nicole DeVecco Kim
